  1. Hey guys, long time listener and love your work, However… as an 8 year FW veteran, listening to you talk about your 2 weeks worth of FW was a bit like listening to an escort talk about romance! To be fair, many of the things you said are true. It IS a grind, and there are MANY mechanics that need an overhaul, not to mention the bots. But to imply that those who play it must be stuck and have too much invested to pull out is too simplistic.
I understand for you guys it’s just another contract, and you have no real allegiance to either faction beyond that. Remember that FW is a long game that ebbs and flows over years, not days. The TZ tug of war for a system can go on for months (see Flietnams I and II late 2021).
There’s a lot of nuance, culture, narrative and history that comes along with FW. Hopefully, that will only grow with the upcoming changes. Keep up the great work!

  2. I don’t think we were implying they couldn’t or wouldn’t do anything else, just that our impression was people had become accustomed to things being the way they were. Which is a healthy long term coping strategy for EVE when your feature hasn’t been touched for nearly a decade tbh.

The tug of war gameplay is definitely an adjustment for us but I’m trying to keep an open mind because of the potential long term pay off you’re alluding to here.
